From AUSTIN and SAN ANTONIO take I10 west to FORT STOCTON, and from EL PASO take I10 east to FORT STOCKTON.

From DALLAS and FT WORTH take I20 west to I10 and then to FORT STOCKTON.

From FORT STOCKTON, take US 67 south to Alpine.

From Alpine, take Hwy 118 south 30 miles to East Rim Ranch on the left.


Area Map and Description
East Rim Ranch lies at 4,000’ elevation and is located between Alpine and Big Bend National Park on US Hwy 118. The ranch is just south of Elephant Mountain just 30 minutes south of Alpine.The ranch consists of 12,000 acres, seven miles of Hwy frontage and has rolling terrain with 200 foot high limestone hills. It is part of the desert grasslands and home to blue quail, mule deer and the occasional elk and ibex. Calamity Creek flows south from the high mountains and runs thru the ranch creating a prolific aquifer and dramatic landscape. The creek is a highway for the desert bighorn sheep that breed on Elephant Mountain to the north and Nine Point Mesa to the south.The East Rim Ranch is being managed for wildlife; it has an extensive watering system and no buildings. It has electricity and a number of water wells, miles of polypipe to watering troughs and a large storage reservoir. The perimeter is fenced and there is cross fencing and two sets of cattle pens.Ten miles of roads have been improved recently, giving access to most of the ranch on both sides of the creek. There is a working rock quarry or caliche pit which has good road base available on the ranch for additional roads and ongpoing maintenance.The ranch is available for sale in its entirety or in smaller acreage.
